AMERICAN SINGER, LUCY SALOME STRÄULI...

...is a frequent guest soloist on the music stage performing a diverse range of Opera, Concert and Musical Theater repertoire.

Her operatic performance credits include "Strawberry Woman" (cover) in PORGY AND BESS with New York City Opera, "Zita" in GIANNI SCHICCHI with Tanglewood Music Festival, "Addie" in REGINA with Bronx Opera, "Dame Quickly" in FALSTAFF, "Filipyevna" in EUGENE ONEGIN and "Marthe" in FAUST with Opera San Jose, "La Zia Principessa" in SUOR ANGELICA, "Ragonde" in LE COMTE ORY and "Ulrica" in UN BALLO IN MASCHERA with the Manhattan School of Music Opera Theater in New York City.


Additional appearances include opera excerpts from AIDA, BÉATRICE ET BÉNÉDICT, CARMEN, COSI FAN TUTTE, DER ROSENKAVALIER, DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE, LA CLEMENZA DI TITO, LA GAZZA LADRA, LAKMÉ, LES CONTES D'HOFFMAN, LE PROPHÈTE, LOUISE, RAPE OF LUCRETIA, SAVATRI and IL TROVATORE.

Ms. Sträuli is often a featured soloist on both the East and West Coast concert stages. Some of her recent engagements include; Beethoven SYMPHONY NO. 9 with the Boise Symphony; Rossini STABAT MATER with the Choral Society of Durham; Handel MESSIAH with Harlem School of the Arts; Duruflé REQUIEM and Handel ISRAEL IN EGYPT with VOICES and The Princeton Players; Mozart MISSA SOLEMNIS with San Jose State University Symphony Orchestra THE LADY FROM PHILADELPHIA - A tribute to Marion Anderson with the Greater Trenton Symphony Orchestra. Additional concert venues have featured Ms. Strauli as a soloist in Pinkham IN HEAVEN SOARING UP and Verdi REQUIEM.

A versatile performer, Ms. Sträuli also enjoys Musical Theater. Recent engagements include "The Duchess of Plaza-Toro" from THE GONDOLIERS with the Princeton Players, "Bloody Mary" from SOUTH PACIFIC with Marin Opera & Peninsula Civic Light Opera, "100 Years of Broadway" with Greater Trenton Symphony Orchestra, and selections from H.M.S. PINAFORE and CAROUSEL with the LAUDA! Chamber Singers.

Ms. Sträuli has sung in master classes for many distinguished artists such as Betty Allen, Barbara Bonney, Nico Castel, Robert Cowart, Irene Dalis, Rochelle Ellis, Jerome Hines, Warren Jones, Kathryn LaBouff, Ken Merrill, Sherrill Milnes and William Warfield.

Ms. Sträuli has been the recipient of much recognition including; Planet-Tonga.com - Community Spotlight of the Month (2002), Tanglewood Music Festival Vocal Fellows, Leni Fé Bland Foundation Scholarship Award, San Jose Opera Guild Scholarship, San Jose State University Choral Activities Scholarship, Charles Riddell Music Fellowship and Shoreview United Methodist Women's Music Scholarship.


Ms. Sträuli received her Masters of Music from Manhattan School of Music and her Bachelor of Music from San Jose State University. She is also certififed as a K-12 Music Teacher in the state of New Jersey.  

Ms. Sträuli is of Polynesian descent [Tonga] and when not performing abroad, she makes her ome in Trenton, New Jersey.
